Personal bankruptcy is a process in which a debtor files for bankruptcy. This process allows the debtor to restructure and reorganize his finances. He can eliminate debt by reducing or eliminating other obligations.

A bankruptcy attorney can help you choose a chapter of bankruptcy and advise you on the risks and benefits of filing. He can also help you determine what types of property are exempt from the bankruptcy process. A bankruptcy attorney can also help you calculate your finances and assets. An attorney can also accompany you to creditors meetings and provide legal representation before a bankruptcy law judge.

Business bankruptcy lawyer

When a business is facing a financial crisis, it may be wise to consider bankruptcy as an option. Bankruptcy attorneys are experienced in this type of case and can explain the process to you. There are a few important things to consider when choosing a bankruptcy lawyer. Choosing the right one can have an impact on your ability to retain valuable assets, avoid expensive litigation, and rebuild your business. An experienced bankruptcy attorney will also be able to discuss the benefits and drawbacks of bankruptcy, as well as possible alternatives.

A business bankruptcy lawyer has the experience and skills to make your bankruptcy case as successful as possible. These attorneys are also experienced in the different aspects of bankruptcy, including the legal process and the process of filing. This means that they have the knowledge needed to help you with any bankruptcy-related issue.

Consumer bankruptcy

Consumer bankruptcy is an area of law where bankruptcy attorneys specialize. Bankruptcy laws can be complex and confusing, so hiring a bankruptcy attorney is essential.

The National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA) and state bar associations can help you find an attorney with experience handling consumer bankruptcy cases.

There are two common types of bankruptcy: Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. Chapter 7 is known as “straight liquidation” and is usually filed when you’re no longer able to make your payments. This type of bankruptcy is not ideal for people with assets, since it does not discharge all debts. Chapter 13 is a long-term plan that allows you to pay back some of your debts over a period of three to five years. It is also a good choice if you’re facing sudden, overwhelming medical bills or lost your job.

Chapter 7 and Chapter 13

The difference between Chapter 7 bankruptcy and Chapter 13 bankruptcy is that in Chapter 7 you can discharge your unsecured debts. In Chapter 13, however, you will be required to make payments over three to five years. While most unsecured debts are discharged, certain types of debts are not. Examples of such debts include recent income taxes, student loans, and spousal support. Depending on your financial situation, you may be able to renegotiate the terms of your home loan or automobile loan through Chapter 13.

When filing for bankruptcy, you will need to identify which debts are priority and unsecured. Chapter 7 bankruptcy can eliminate many types of unsecured debt, such as credit card and medical debt. Chapter 13 bankruptcy allows you to make repayments on your special debts through a court-approved repayment plan. This repayment plan gives you more control over your finances and protects you from creditors.
